The Riverside Studios’ Type ‘A’ Workshop for Professionals, Drama Students and K. S. 5
I very much appreciated your introductory lecture. This was my first real encounter with the history of Poland and its theatre and I found it detailed and very understandable. I enjoyed the workshop session and found it very interesting to have the chance to work on one of the plays discussed. John Sole Set Designer
The initial lecture was really useful. The material you showed us was great and I was excited by the practical work. Zoe Pepper Theatre Studies Student
I really enjoyed the lightening tour of Polish history…it put a lot of context into the texts and reminded me of things I had come across out of context. The workshop was good…I am not an actress…but it was exciting…Thanks for the experience! Kim Bennet Overseas Student
Fitzwimarc School’s Type ‘C’ Workshop for K.S. 3.
Each group performed a part in the play and also discussed the play only to then realise that they were not only discovering a lot about Polish culture but also about human nature. Thank you Mr. Hayes! For a very interesting and thought provoking day! Delphine Selaj Language Teacher Fitzwimarc School
I enjoyed doing the group work and the drawings because we did a little bit of Art and a little bit of Drama and not just one subject. I learnt a lot of different facts and a lot about the drawings we did. I think we should of have had some Polish food too! Kristi K.
I liked all the hands on stuff like doing the play and the portraits and learning about Poland and Witkacy. Chloe W.
I enjoyed looking at their sense of humour and then to act it out. I think I have gained a lot of knowledge about Polish culture. I would like to learn some of the language too! Charlie B.
I enjoyed acting out the play and wearing the costumes. I have gained some knowledge about Poland’s History and Culture too. Fiona C.
I enjoyed drawing the portraits the most as I like drawing in particular and I think I have gained confidence due to performing in front of the class. Dean K.
I enjoyed being able to do individual work and group work. We could also choose our groups. We did Drama and Art which are two of my favourite subjects. It was good to do practical work in Drama. I feel I have gained some knowledge about acting, characterisation and Absurd Drama. I learnt about the artist Witkacy and copied his work. If we were to do more we could learn a little more about Poland or even try Polish food! Lucy S.
